The full guide to a smooth, fun summer at Sky's Summer Adventure Camp.

Important — pickup & dismissal

Late Pickup Policy

Regular camp days: camp ends at 4:00 PM. Late pickup beyond the stated grace period will result in an additional late-pickup fee.

The exact grace period and late-pickup fee amount are being finalized and will be shared with families in writing before camp begins.

Field trip / camp transportation exception

If a camp-organized field trip or camp transportation returns late because of traffic, weather, a necessary transportation stop, mechanical/transportation delay, or the camp-planned trip schedule, parents will not be charged a late-pickup fee for that camp-caused delay.

  • Camp will communicate an updated estimated return and pickup time when practical through the Parent Communication / Camp Reminders system.
  • Campers remain supervised by camp staff until the delayed camp transportation returns.
  • Once the delayed group has returned and the updated pickup window has been communicated, ordinary late-pickup rules may apply if the authorized pickup adult then arrives late beyond that updated window.
  • Camp-caused delays may include necessary transportation, restroom, fuel, or emergency stops made for the safety of the group.

Only adults listed on the Emergency Contact Form may pick up your child. Aftercare is available after the camp day for an additional fee.

Drop-off & Pick-up

  • Camp runs Monday–Friday, approximately 8:00am–4:00pm.
  • Aftercare arrangements and payment details remain to be confirmed; no rates are being released yet.
  • Be prompt on your group's outing day — we share departure times in advance once transportation is confirmed.
  • Only adults listed on the Emergency Contact Form may pick up your child. Photo ID required for the first pick-up.
  • REGULAR CAMP DAYS: CAMP ENDS AT 4:00 PM. LATE PICKUP BEYOND THE STATED GRACE PERIOD WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL LATE-PICKUP FEE. See the Late Pickup Policy at the top of this page, including the camp-caused field trip delay exception.

Lunch & snacks

  • Current working plan: camp-provided lunch on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
  • Packed lunch from home on Tuesday and Thursday.
  • Daily snacks and refreshments are planned.
  • We are a nut-free camp — please pack accordingly.
  • List allergies and dietary needs at registration.

Reminders before each camp day

  • Activity, trip, meal, and weather reminders will be shared before they are needed.
  • Signed-in families can see them any time under Camp Reminders in the parent dashboard — upcoming notices first, recent ones below.
  • You only see notices for all campers plus your own camper's team.
  • Urgent updates — sudden heat, storms, heavy rain, an indoor move or a schedule change — rise to the top of that page.

Everyday backpack list

  • LABEL EVERYTHING WITH YOUR CHILD'S FIRST AND LAST NAME.
  • Labeled backpack and labeled refillable water bottle.
  • Sunscreen, applied before arrival and sent labeled as instructed.
  • Sun hat or cap.
  • Complete change of clothes.
  • Personal lotion or moisturizer if needed.
  • Closed-toe athletic shoes.
  • Packed lunch on Tuesday and Thursday.
  • Medications and emergency items must follow the camp's approved medical procedure — never loose in a backpack. Final policy and authorization details are still being finalized and will be shared with families.

Water & aquatic day list

  • Swimsuit or swim trunks.
  • Towel.
  • Dry change of clothes, plus dry underwear and socks.
  • Sunscreen and a refillable water bottle.
  • Wet-clothes or waterproof bag.
  • Secure pool or water shoes.
  • Label every item with your child's first and last name.

What to pack each day

  • Refillable water bottle (labeled).
  • Swimsuit, towel, and waterproof bag on water days.
  • Sunscreen already applied + a labeled bottle for re-application.
  • Closed-toe sneakers — no flip-flops on outing days.
  • A packed lunch on Tuesday and Thursday, plus snacks.

What NOT to bring

  • Phones, tablets, or smartwatches with calling features.
  • Money, jewelry, or trading cards.
  • Anything that looks like a weapon, even a toy.

Health, illness & medication

  • Please keep your child home for 24 hours after a fever, vomiting, or diarrhea.
  • All medication must be in original packaging with written instructions, handed to a counselor at drop-off.
  • Allergies and conditions must be listed on the Emergency Contact Form.

Behavior & belonging

  • We follow a 3-step approach: gentle reminder → reset with a counselor → call home.
  • Bullying, physical aggression, or hate speech results in immediate pick-up.

Communication

  • Daily photo recap is posted to our private parent group by 6pm.
  • Counselors are reachable by text 7:30am–6pm. After hours, email skyssummercamp@yahoo.com.
  • End-of-week reports are sent every Friday.
  • Insurance coverage and Maryland Youth Camps guidance are pending written confirmation.

Outing days

  • Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday are staggered outing days — one age group travels while the other two stay at camp for full programming.
  • Tuesday: Sky Explorers · Wednesday: Adventure Rangers · Thursday: Adventure Leaders.
  • All outings require a signed Permission Slip.
  • Campers travel in a licensed vehicle with camp staff supervision.
  • Final destinations vary by age group and availability; we confirm each destination and its departure time with families in advance.
